Day One
by Mike Greenberg

Another thoughtful idea for knitting a neighborhood together emerged from the East team Saturday afternoon. The area in question includes three insular, widely scattered residential subdivisions at the perimeter of a large tract of land formerly used for the transmitting tower of radio station KONO. The team proposes redevloping this mostly raw land as another residential subdivision linked to the existing ones. At the east end of the site would be a road that would continue the proposed Salado Creek parkway. Apart from the useful linkages, the scheme would define an edge -- or, in more active terms, an interface -- between the neighborhood and the creek.
