B. ENVIRONSA proposed 1000 acre development on the Park's north and west boundary is platted as Woodland Hills Subdivision.  Plans filed in 1994 project a major residential and resort development; golf course fairways have already been cleared of vegetation.  The Woodland Hills land along the Park's west boundary is in the foreground of one the Park's major views visible from several points along the Vista Loop Trail.

Traylor Subdivision could be called the Park's "front porch" since most visitors pass through it en route to the Park.  At about 200 acres, the subdivision includes residential and business sites mostly on parcels of 3 to 5 acres, though a couple of parcels exceed 20 acres.  About half of the Park's east watershed drains through Traylor Subdivision.

Heuermann Road (from Milsa to Babcock):  About 100 acres of land lies between the Park's south boundary, Heuermann Road, and Woodland Hills Subdivision.  The largest parcel is about 30 acres and is undeveloped.  Two small parcels accommodate communications towers.  Several lots of 4 to 10 acres are sites for single family residences and one small business.

Just south of Heurmann Road, across from the southeast corner of the Park, two undeveloped hillsides occupy the foreground of major views from the Main Loop Trail towards downtown San Antonio.

I-10, Texas Military Institute, several major residential subdivisions, and some commercial developments are visible to the east from numerous points along the upland section of the Main Loop Trail.

Nearby parks include Raymond Russell County Park and Eisenhower (City) Park which offer pavilions, picnic sites, playfields, hiking, jogging, and bicycle trails, as well as access for pets.
