  development that meets current needs without compromising the ability of subsequent generations to meet theirs.
• Community and Security:
  civil community contrasted with gates and guards
• Loop Node vs Regional Identity:
  community begins with sense of place
• Water Quality and Conservation:
  rainwater harvesting; on-site re-use... separate gray water and black water... treat waste water as near as possible to site of origin; stormwater management; improve and protect groundwater volume and quality
• Energy and Resource Conservation
• Public Health, Pollution, Toxic Products and By-products
• Healthy Ecology:
  diverse habitat; preserve endangered species
• Mixed Use Planning:
  integral services, shopping and employment; jobs in community (traffic decongestant); sacred sites; historical sites
• Economic Diversity:
  housing for startup as well as established families
• Edible Landscaping - community gardening, farming, open space planting
• Calm traffic:
  so pedestrians and bicyclists are comfortable on most streets; provide greenbelts and nature paths, but do not create a second, separate but equal transportation system... civic energy is limited
