To All Interested Parties:

The following information is provided as clarification to the Telecommunications Services and Video Network Services RFP for the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.

 

Replace the italicized type contained in Section 1.1, paragraph 2 in its entirety with the following language: The telecommunications services provided to the Convention Center must foster and promote the larger goal of the City of San Antonio to become a "smart city" which will attract customers to the Convention Center and help position San Antonio as a leading convention and meeting city in the 21st century. The "smart city" concept includes two-way video and telecommunications connectivity/interface with area schools, colleges, universities, the Texas Research Park, not for profit hospitals, libraries, and other public facilities.

Replace paragraph 4 of Section 1.1 in its entirety with the following language: The second service being requested is the provision of a video communications network within the Convention Center and connecting the Convention Center with hotels, restaurants, other tourist related businesses, area schools, colleges and universities, the Texas Research Park, not for profit hospitals, libraries and other public facilities. This network must foster and promote the larger goal of the City of San Antonio to become a "smart city" which will attract customers to the Convention Center and help position San Antonio as a leading convention and meeting city in the 21st century. Again, the "smart city" concept includes two-way video and telecommunications connectivity/interface with area schools, colleges, universities, the Texas Research Park, not for profit hospitals, libraries, and other public facilities. The vendor will be also be required to coordinate with the Convention Center and the Show Manager of the event to provide needed video services, and will pay the Convention Center a concession fee based on a percentage of sales of advertising and video production.

Replace Section 4.3.4 in its entirety with the following language:

The City of San Antonio seeks to achieve connectivity to area educational institutions (schools, colleges, and universities), the Texas Research Park, not for profit hospitals, libraries, and other public facilities as part of the "Smart City" concept, where all these institutions are linked together for two-way video, voice, and data communications. In as much as these institutions are a part of a market segment targeted by many advertisers, the proposal should include how these institutions will be addressed in the marketing plan/strategy. Additionally, the proposal should include what assistance (financial, in-kind, or other) the provider will make available to these institutions as part of its commitment to helping the City of San Antonio achieve the connectivity and "Smart City" concept referenced above, in addition to the proposed revenue stream to the Convention Center from the telecommunication services operations.

 

Replace Section 4.10.1 in its entirety with the following language:

The proposed purchase price offered for the "Expansion Phase" and "Renovation Phase" cable infrastructure (minimum offer for both cable plants is $1,000,000.00).

Replace Section 4.11.4 in its entirety with the following language:

"Smart City" Compatibility/Capability - Provide a detailed overview of your telecommunications system’s ability to foster, promote, and interface with the "Smart City" concept, as well as your ability in and the costs associated with providing connectivity throughout the "Smart City" network. Also provide a detailed account of what assistance (financial, in-kind or other) you will make available to area educational institutions (schools, colleges, and universities), the Texas Research Park, not for profit hospitals, libraries, and other public facilities as part of your commitment to helping the City of San Antonio achieve the connectivity and "Smart City" concept referenced herein, where all these institutions are linked together for two-way video, voice, and data communications.

Replace Section 5.14, paragraph 2, in its entirety with the following language:

The City of San Antonio seeks to achieve connectivity to area educational institutions (schools, colleges, and universities), the Texas Research Park, not for profit hospitals, libraries, and other public facilities as part of the "Smart City" concept, where all these institutions are linked together for two-way video, voice, and data communications. Delete the following language from Page 55, Category 5, bullet point #6:

(minimum offer is $425,000.00)
