The P.E.A.C.E. Initiative
(Putting and End to Abuse through Community Initiatives)
A diverse coalition of grassroots organizations, public and private institutions and individuals working collaboratively to eradicate family violence

The mission of the P.E.A.C.E. Initiative is to raise community awareness and understanding of the extent, and often deadly consequences, of domestic violence in San Antonio. This coalition designs and implements far-reaching programs that will bring peace to familias.

This award-winnng program has worked to create comprehensive, responsive solutions to end domestic violence in collaboration with:

  • law enforcement
  • the clergy
  • grassroots organizers
  • the educational system
  • selected appointed officials
  • the corporate community
  • the criminal justice system
  • the medical community
  • the media
  • social service providers
  • formerly battered women
  • advocates in other cities, states and communities
  • If you would like more information on family violence, call the P.E.A.C.E. Initiative at (210) 735-4988. Speakers, educational materials and workshops on domestic violence are available in English and Spanish.

    To become a member of the P.E.A.C.E. Initiative, simply fill out the attached form. (which is also an invoice.) Monthly brown bag lunch meetings are hosted by different P.E.A.C.E. members on the 1st Tuesday of each month. P.E.A.C.E. members stragegize, plan and implement new projects. Membership contributions are tax decuctible.

    (Be on mailing list and receive monthly meeting minutes.)
    Organizational Member - $35.00 - $99.00
    (Organizational and sustaining members will also be included on P.E.A.C.E. letterhead.)
    Sustaining Member - $100.00 - $500.00
    (Will receive a plaque signifying their membership, for their agency, from our Board of Directors.)
