1/24/00 - Billy George Hughes was executed for the 1976 shooting death of State Trooper Mark Frederick, who had stopped his car outside of Sealy, Texas after responding to a dispatcher's report that a man driving a similar car was suspected of using a stolen credit card.

1/21/00 - Larry Keith Robison, 42, a paranoid schizophrenic, was executed for the Aug. 10, 1982, shooting death of his roommate, 33-year-old Bruce M. Gardner. He is also accused of killing neighbors Georgia Ann Reed, 34, her son, Scott Reed, 11, her mother Earline H. Barker, 55, and Rickey Lee Bryant, 31.

1/20/00 David Hicks 38, was executed for the rape and murder of his own grandmother, Ocolor Hegger, 87, in Teague, Texas.

1/18/00 - Spencer Corey Goodman - 31, was executed for the kidnapping-murder of 48-year-old Cecile Ham, the wife of Bill Ham, manager of the rock group ZZ Top, in Houston.

1/12/00 Earl Carl Heiselbetz, Jr. - was executed for the kidnapping and murders of his next door neighbor and her young daughter, Rena Rogers, 27, and her two-year-old daughter Jacy. He was the 200th person executed in Texas since capital punishment resumed here in 1982.

12/15/99 Sammie Felder - 54, was executed for the 1975 stabbing death of James Hanks, 42, a paraplegic who was living at an apartment complex designed for people with disabilities. Felder was working as an attendant at the apartments at the time of the murder.

12/14/99 Robert Ronald Atworth - 30, was executed for the shooting and stabbing death of Thomas Carlson, 56, a former insurance executive who was found shot to death between two trash bins behind a health club in Richardson, a Dallas suburb.

12/9/99 James Beathard - was executed for the 1984 slayings of Gene Hathorn Sr, 45; Linda Sue Hathorn, 35 and Marcus Hathorn, 14. Gene Hathorn Jr., who also received the death penalty for these murders, promised to pay Beathard $12,000 to help kill his family members so that Hathorn could inherit an estate valued at $150,000.

12/8/99: David Martin Long - was executed for the 1986 hatchet slaying of his three female roommates in Lancaster, a Dallas suburb. The victims were Donna Sue Jester, 38; her cousin Dalpha Lorene Jester, 64 and Laura Lee Owens, 20.

11/18/99 - Jose Gutierrez - 39, was executed for the murder of Dorothy McNew, a clerk at the Texas Coin Exchange in College Station, Texas. Jose and his brother stole approximately half a million dollars worth of gems and jewelry. Jessie Gutierrez was executed in 1994.

11/16/99 - Desmond Jennings - 28, was executed for the shooting deaths of 44-year-old Sylvester Walton and 27-year-old Wonda Matthews at a Fort Worth crack house. The Associated Press reported that Jennings' execution was noteworthy because authorities had to use force twice - first to pull him from his cell, then to take him from a death row cell and onto the gurney. It was the first time in 193 executions in the state since 1982 that a condemned inmate resisted during his trip to punishment.

11/17/99 - John Michael Lamb - 42, was executed for the 1982 robbery-slaying in Greenville of Jerry Harrison Chafin, 30, a Castlewood, Va., businessman.

10/28/99 - Domingo Cantu - 31, was executed for the murder of Suda Elder Jones, a 94-year-old woman who was beaten, raped and killed by being hit with a concrete block 11 years ago.

10/14/99 - Jerry Walter McFadden, 51, a thrice-convicted sex offender whose 1986 jail escape resulted in the state's largest manhunt, was executed for the rape and murder of Suzanne Denise Harrison, 18, a Hawkins High School cheerleader.

10/12/99 - Alvin Wayne Crane, 41, a former oilfield worker, was executed the shooting death of Melvin Drum, 57, Ochiltree County's chief deputy. Drum was responding to the call of a domestic dispute; it was at least the third time that day authorities were summoned to deal with Crane and his wife, Linda.

09/21/99 - Richard Smith, 43, was executed for the 1992 shooting death of Karen Birky, 38, a special education teacher at Lamar Elementary School in Houston who had a second job at a convenience store. While working the late shift she was robbed of $20 and shot in the parking lot.

09/14/99 - William Prince Davis was executed for the killing of Richard Walter Lang, a Houston ice cream company worker during a 1978 robbery at the Red Wing Ice Cream Co.

09/10/99 - Willis Barnes was convicted of sexually assaulting and murdering an 84-year-old Houston woman, Helen Greb, in the course of a burglary in 1988. Barnes was the the 100th person excuted in the 4 1/2 years of Governor Geoge Bush's administration.

09/01/99 - Raymond James Jones , 39, was executed for the 1988 murder of Su Van Dang, a Vietnamese immigrant, so he could steal the victim's portable stereo from his Port Arthur home.

08/18/1999 - Joe Mario Trevino, 37, was executed for raping and strangling 80-year-old grandmother Blanche Miller in Tarrant County in 1983 during a burglary of her home.

08/11/99 - James Otto Earhart, 56, was convicted for the fatal shooting of Kandy Janell Kirtland, a 9-year-old Bryan girl abducted from her home in 1987.

08/10/99 - Kenneth D. Dunn, 39, was convicted for the 1980 shooting death of Madeline Peters, 21, a teller at the Bank of Almeda in Houston.

08/04/99 - Ricky Blackman, 41, was convicted for the 1987 robbery-slaying of Carl J. Rinkle, 26, a Shelby County man who was stabbed and slashed with a home-made sword during the course of a robbery.

08/05/99 - Charles Boyd, 39, a former bank janitor, was convicted for strangling and drowning Mary Mulligan, 21, in her Dallas apartment in 1987.

07/07/99 - Tyrone Fuller was executed for the Paris, Texas robbery, rape and murder of Andrea Lea Duke. In January, 1988, 24-year-old Fuller and his accomplices stabbed Andrea to death during a burglary.

07/01/99 - Charles Tuttle was convicted for the 1995 bludgeoning murder of Catherine Harris, 43, in Tyler, Texas. Charles Daniel Tuttle, who turned 35 last Saturday, refused to allow his attorneys to file appeals on his behalf.

06/17/99 Stanley Faulder, 61, a Canadian citizen, despite a blitz of last-minute appeals including one to the U.S. Supreme Court, and pleading from Ottawa, Washington, the Vatican, and a stream of Canadian delegations to Texas, was executed by the State of Texas. Faulder, who has never claimed innocence of the killing, was tried twice and was twice sentenced to death for the July 9, 1975, murder of Inez Phillips, 75, of Gladewater during a robbery of her home.

06/01/99 - William Little, 38, a ninth-grade dropout who worked as a roofer, was executed for the rape, stabbing and strangling of 23-year-old Marilyn Peter in her Liberty County home in a rural area near Cleveland, about 30 miles northeast of Houston.

05/05/99 Clydell Coleman, 62, was convicted in Waco for the 1989 murder of 87-year-old Leetisha Joe after breaking into her home looking for valuables to support his cocaine habit.

05/04/99 Jose De La Cruz, 31, was convicted and sentenced in 1988 for killing 24-year-old Domingo Rosas on June 1, 1987. The body of Rosas, who was partially paralyzed, was found in his Corpus Christi apartment with multiple stab wounds and a broken neck.

04/28/99 Aaron Christopher Foust, 26, was convicted of the murder of David Ward, 43, a Fort Worth hospital administrator.

03/30/99 Robert Excell White , 61, was convicted of the murder of Roy Perryman, and of gas tation owner, 73-year-old Preston Broyles, and Gary Coker and Billy St. John, both eighteen, customers at the station.

3/25/99 Charles Rector was executed for the abduction, rape, shooting and drowning of Carolyn Kay Davis more than 17 years ago during an attempted burglary, kidnapping, and robbery.

2/24/99 Norman Evans Green - 38, was convicted 14 years ago for fatally shooting an electronics store clerk in a botched robbery. Nineteen-year-old UTSA engineering student Timothy Adams was shot four times at a Dyer Electronics store on Perrin-Beitel Road in San Antonio on February 13, 1985. Green's accomplice, Howard Bowens, testified against Green in exchange for a life sentence.
